La Palma and all of Orange County are now entering the first phase of stage 3 as part of California’s four-stage reopening plan. On May 26, Governor Gavin Newsom announced that counties that have received a variance from the state, such as Orange County, can allow barbers and hair salons to reopen with modifications. Orange County Healthcare Agency also released a new health order outlining guidelines for all Orange County residents who are visiting newly-opened businesses. This includes a requirement that everyone wear a cloth face covering or mask when out at shops, restaurants and other businesses when they are within six feet of others outside their household. Workers are required to wear them when within six feet of someone else.
The order also reinforces practices we’ve already been doing during the outbreak, including hand washing, sanitizing of frequently touched surfaces and staying home when you are sick or have been exposed to someone who is sick.
