Recreational Vehicle and Trailer Parking


The City of La Palma Municipal Code prohibits over-sized recreational vehicles and non-motorized vehicles (trailers) from parking on any public street, private street, or any residential driveway, between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., except with a permit/exemption. The City’s Municipal Code further defines the specific affected vehicles.

Each resident is allowed to use 50 daily permits/exemptions in a calendar year for each affected vehicle they own. To accommodate guests, each La Palma household is also granted 30 permits/exemptions for non-resident vehicles.

To obtain a permit/exemption, residents must contact the La Palma Police Department, in advance and before midnight. There is no charge for this permit/exemption, and residents will need to provide all of the following information to obtain the permit/exemption:

  • Resident’s name, address, and phone number
  • Vehicle make and model; license plate number or VIN
  • Location where the vehicle will be parked.
