City Council Adopts Goals for 2008

The La Palma City Council recently conducted its annual goal setting session with City Manager Dominic Lazzaretto. After a full day of discussions, the City Council unanimously adopted five priority goals and several other goals for the year. The priority goals are to: enhance the quality of life in La Palma; establish a plan for providing funding to local organizations; continue multicultural diversity outreach activities; enhance business development and retention programs; and improve public communication. Each of these priority goals includes a series of specific action items that City departments have begun to pursue and will follow throughout the year.

Some of the key action items include: completing the Community Center Rehabilitation Project; developing a plan for beautification of the City's arterial blockwalls; developing a park master plan; concluding positive labor negotiations; and continuing the City's commitment to Project Safe Streets.
