Older Adults
The City of La Palma is dedicated to providing for the leisure needs of all its residents. We strive to enhance the quality of life by offering active and passive recreation programs in a clean, safe, and inviting setting.

The Club offers adults, 50 years and older, the opportunity to meet new friends, learn new things, and have a lot of fun!  At each meeting you will be able to play Bingo, socialize, enjoy coffee and snacks, and listen to guest speakers (occasionally)

Meetings and Membership

  • The Club meets every Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the La Palma Community Center (7821 Walker Street) 
  • The members at each weekly meeting provide coffee and dessert.

Senior Transportation Referral
For La Palma seniors needing transportation, La Palma Recreation and Community Services provides guidance and referral assistance.  There is a wide variety of options available depending on your needs.  Our staff will help you identify these options and the process required to access transportation.  If needed, we will work with you to fill out the required forms.  For referral assistance, please contact us at (714) 690-3350.

Meals on Wheels
La Palma’s Meals on Wheels is designed to serve nutritionally balanced meals to residents who are physically unable to prepare their own. To get more information or to start getting meals for yourself or a loved one, call (714) 690-3350. 

Volunteers are also needed who would be interested in delivering meals Monday - Friday. Volunteers work twice monthly for about one hour. If you're interested in volunteering, please call (714) 690-3350. 

Senior Information and Assistance
2-1-1 is a free three-digit telephone number that provides referral for non-emergency social services. Call 2-1-1 or visit 211 online.  Social services referrals include: 
  • Food
  • Shelter
  • Child care
  • Services for persons with disabilities
  • Services for older adults and their caregivers
  • Alcohol and drug services

Office on Aging
The Orange County Office on Aging provides Senior Information and Assistance which provides older adults, their families and caregivers with information, referrals and access to agencies and programs that can help them with senior-related services.
