The City of La Palma actively participated in the Pacific Electric Right-of-Way Alternative Analysis with a Councilmember appointed to the Steering Committee and a Community Development Director assigned to the Technical Advisory Committee. Overall, the City is supportive of regional transportation alternatives as long as they do not impact or interfere with the quality of life within the City of La Palma.
The City Council has previously adopted Resolutions stating opposition to any development of the former Pacific-Electric Right-of-Way, where it abuts the City's jurisdictional boundaries, for transit or transportation purposes. The resolutions are Resolution 2009-26
adopted on June 2, 2009, Resolution 2007-08 adopted on March 6, 2007, and Resolution 2005-17 adopted on April 5, 2005.
