Home Spotlight Awards
Home Spotlight Nomination Information
Three times a year, the Community Activities and Beautification Committee recognizes those residents who maintain, renovate, and take enough pride in their homes that they become showcases for the entire neighborhood!   If you know a home that you think should be considered for this award, please submit a Home Spotlight Nomination Form.

Proud, diligent homeowners are the heart of strong, safe neighborhoods and a vibrant city. By keeping La Palma beautiful, residents like these are one of the many reasons why La Palma has been named one of the best places to live in the United States!

The City of La Palma would like to congratulate residents Mike and Jean Brunelli for winning the 2016 Fall Spotlight Award!

Mike and Jean have been residents of La Palma for the past 46 years.  Their children attended Miller Elementary, Walker Junior High and Kennedy High School and still reside in Orange County.

The Brunelli's have always taken pride in their home.  Recently, they added artificial turf to the front yard and updated the landscape.  The beautiful roses in the garden have been there for years.  A few years ago they added a front patio which is used to visit with neighbors and is decorated for the holidays.  To assist with energy efficiency they have installed a tankless water heater, double pane windows and a skylight.

The City of La Palma would like to congratulate residents Glenn and Wilma Saults for winning the 2016 Summer Home Spotlight Award!

Glenn and Wilma have been residents of La Palma for the past 48 years.  Glenn is a retired Lieutenant from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.  They have two adult children, six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Their home has a two-tone circular brick pattern in the lawn with three Pygmy Palms to keep with the name of the city and a 260sqf artificial lawn that is dark green. To add to the overall look, pavers have been installed in the driveway and walkways that lead to the side and front area.  The same two tone brick flower bed is underneath the front bay window with drought resistant plants.

Winter 2016 Home Spotlight Winner

The City of La Palma would like to congratulate residents Cathleen Tsujioka for winning the 2016 Winter Home Spotlight Award.

Mrs. Tsujioka has been a proud long time resident of La Palma, she has resided in her home for the past 46 years.  When asked about her lawn, she said she converted her lawn into a "low maintenance' lawn some time ago.  The plan includes a dry river bed, large boulders, bonsai palm trees, and shrubs.  With the drought and recent water shortage, Kathleen contributes this type of landscaping to helping her do her part in reducing water usage in La Palma.
