La Palma celebrates its diverse heritage with the annual La Palma Days celebration!

2014 marks the 30th anniversary of this cherished community event!  It continues to encourage residents, business partners, and friends to celebrate La Palma’s community spirit.  If you are interested in volunteering for this event please call (714) 690-3350 or email .

On Saturday, November 8, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., the La Palma Days Parade and prestigious Band Review will once again feature over 200 units including junior and senior high school bands, JROTC units, veterans, military entries, celebrities, dignitaries, elected officials, local schools, clubs and organizations, businesses, the Orange County Fire Authority, and others - all parading down Walker Street, from Houston to La Palma Avenue.  

Again, La Palma Days hopes to be designated as the "Official Veteran's Day Parade of Orange County" by proclamation from the Orange County Board of Supervisors.

All Day Wristbands Available Now!

All day wristbands are available at a special discounted price of $22 at the Community Services Department until Friday, November 7 at 5:30 p.m.  For an even greater discount have your child color our La Palma Days coloring sheet!  Each sheet will allow you to purchase a wristband for $20 (a $5 discount from the day of price).  The coloring sheets are available for download or you can pick one up in the Community Services office.

A variety of activities for preschoolers to adults will be featured at La Palma Days 2014. Everyone will enjoy the festival while supporting local organizations at the same time.

La Palma Days 2014 will feature diverse entertainment and things to do for the entire family.  The Pavilion Stage will showcase cultural entertainment featuring local and diverse talent. 

This years entertainment will feature the following:

12:00-1:30 p.m.:  40th Infantry Band
1:50-2:30 p.m.:    Innovation Dance Studio
2:45-3:30 p.m.:    Magician Mark Paskell
3:50-4:50 p.m.:    5 Minutes Late (Teen Battle of the Bands Winner, 2014)


Vendors

The La Palma Days Community Festival features over 30 vendors.  Everyone enjoys a wide variety of tasty cuisine by sampling foods from around the world. Patrons support both commercial and local nonprofit organizations as they work towards their goal of providing ongoing services to our community.



La Palma Pageant

The City of La Palma kicked off the La Palma Days Celebration with the Pageant on Sunday, November 2. There were approximately 200 people watching as Maddie Thompson, Kennedy High School Senior, was crowned as La Palms’ 2014-2015 Ambassador.  

As Ambassador, Maddie will attend Business Grand Openings, City functions and Community Events. 

Four contestants were seeking the coveted title of La Palma Ambassador. La Palma Ambassador, Maddie Thompson and her court La Palma Princess Michelle Glasell, Kari Kessinger and Shelby Rogers will now serve as the Ambassadors of the City of La Palma for this coming year.
