If the City’s revenues were reduced by 20% would you support a new property tax assessment to maintain important La Palma local programs? How much would you be willing to pay? $2 per month? $50/year? Up to $100/year?

I believe most of home values are down, including La Palma, and extra fee might not be a big amount but might not be right time to increase this time.

I think at this time we should not increase property taxes. Lets try to keep our residents in this trying economy.

Cut out of the other 74 percent of the budget. Do NOT increase property taxes or anything else, The original user tax was suppose to get us out of a mess, and was only suppose to be implemented for a short period of time, Today it still exist and we are in worst shape now then ever.. Stop spending more then you collect.

We should not have to pay a single penny more in property taxes. Cut the budget. The budget you have put online is loaded with waste and is the perpetuation of prior years' wasteful spending and poor oversight by city management and by extension, the city council. Stop the spending and cut back on the waste. No property tax increase are needed with any proper fiscal management.

I do not support an increase in property tax assessment even if revenues were reduced by twenty percent or less.

A tax increase is only acceptable, if temporary, and only if there is much more transparency in city job descriptions. There are many questions citizens have about what we pay taxes for. Perhaps we need some way to understand where the money is being spent and why. For example, lately the hot topic is government worker pensions. I would like to understand more about the current and future costs. On the surface, it seems like we contribute far too much compared to private companies. I don't think our taxes in this city are unfair as long as the services are good and the character remains unchanged. The budgets need a thorough review and public explanation for the citizens to buy into tax hikes.
